The gilt chain fusee verge movement with profusely pierced and engraved cock and foot with floral decorations, pierced tulip pillars, the gold champlevé dial with engraved and blacked Roman numerals, outer Arabic five minute divisions, diamond half hour marks and inner quarter hour ring, blued steel beetle and poker hands, in plain gold inner case, numbered 171 with maker's mark N.D. for Nathaniel Delander and a dagger mark, hallmarked London 1685, in a (later) gold repousse outer case with a classical scene

Nathaniel Delander used a 'dagger' punch to denote numbers over 500. The 'dagger' mark in the inner case denotes the case number 671, which corresponds to the movement number. This watch is illustrated in F.J. Britten's 1899 edition of "Old Clocks and Watches and their Makers"
