ALBERT ODMARK NOTES
Purchased 1973.

The dead-beat verge differs from the ordinary verge in that the 'flags' on the balance staff are replaced by pallets with flat surfaces on which the teeth of the escape wheel come to rest. The inclined surface of the pallet provides the impulse as the wheel unlocks and the tooth slips past.
