The frosted gilt chain fusee verge movement with pierced Egyptian pillars, pierced cock and foot to the edge of the top plate, pierced and decorative barrel to the striking train striking on a bell with strike-silent lever under the bezel, the (later) white enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer Arabic five-minute divisions, blued steel, beetle and poker hands, in finely chased and pierced inner case with split bezel and seven-piece hinge, finely decorated outer case with square seven-piece hinge, engraved monogram on a central cartouche

Thomas Windmills was the son of Joseph Windmills and was apprenticed in 1686, became free of the Clockmaker's Guild in 1695 and was a Master from 1719-1732.
