The 125 mm. high pillar dial engraved and varnished paper scale set for latitude 49° and bearing maker's details, vertical morning and evening hour scales 6-10½ and 1½-6, with Echelle pour observer les hauteur correspondentes., reading off the vertical calendar scale with approximately 10 day subdivisions, the fruitwood knop sliding out a central wooden peg housing the folding flat steel gnomon, the cylindrical card case covered in green paper and bearing on a maker's label on the side of the lid, a label for the Equation du Temps on the top of the lid, and instructions for USAGE DE LA MONTRE SOLAIRE PERFECTIONÉE and USAGE DE LA TABLE D'ÉQUATION on the side of the case
