The pediment inset with an enamel plaque depicting Napoleon seated on a chair by a lakeside with buildings in the background, the corresponding plaque in the base of Josephine reclining on a chaise longue within an Arcadian setting, the gilt-metal capped enamel columns painted with ladies and gentlemen in period dress, the cream enamel Arabic dial with floral garlands and foliate cast gilt-metal hands, signed by the retailer Albert Hansen Seattle, the twin going barrel movement with Brocot type escapement and strike on a gong, the backplate with medal stamp for Marti & Co. 7988, with mercury-filled twin glass tube pendulum
