The case of typical form with plain pierced brass gallery frets to the side, engraved dolphin press to the front, urn finials to each angle supporting the bell straps, the dial with silvered Roman chapter ring and single pierced brass hand, the dial centre engraved with flower heads and signed Thos. Roth of Wellington, June 1500, the movement going train with verge escapement and central swinging arrowhead pendulum, the strike train with countwheel and strike on bell above
