The redecorated case of tear-drop form with rectangular trunk door, the inside pasted with a trade label Hyde & Sons of Sleaford with inscription This clock belonged to Lord Hampton, The Hoo, Plumpton Herts, 'strengthened' signature Just. Vulliamy LONDON, beneath the dial within a large ebonised moulded bezel, re-painted cream chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, blue painted centre, original(?) pierced brass heart-shaped hands, the movement with five front-pinned pillars securing the A-shaped brass plates, anchor escapement with later crutch and later pendulum and weight
