The engraved silvered dial signed James McCabe, Royal Exchange, London, No.443, gold spade hands, Roman and Arabic chapter ring, large diameter subsidiary seconds ring at VI with blued steel hand, up/down sector calibrated 0-7, the movement with well spotted plates, the top plate engraved Jas. McCabe Royal Exchange London No. 443, the main-frame assembly carrying the fusee, barrel and centre wheel, the sub-frame assembly carrying the remainder of the train, Earnshaw-type spring detent escapement with cut bi-metallic Pennington-type balance with blued steel helical spring, jewelled locking stone (replaced detent), brass bowl and gimbal, the brass-bound three-tier mahogany box with drop handles to the sides
