An American mahogany long duration large octagonal wall clock
Atkins Clock Co., Bristol, Ct. Second half 19th Century
The convex and ripple-moulded octagonal frame hinged at the top and with push catch in the base, the 18 in. diameter re-painted Roman dial with large blued steel hands, the movement with brass plates with steel front-pinned pillars, the springs mounted behind twin fusees with gut lines to barrels between the plates, anchor escapement and wood-rod pendulum
