The case of typical form with restored cream painted Roman dial signed Aaron Willard with blued steel hands, typical movement with four front-pinned pillars and crutchpiece mounted between the dial and frontplate, the weight and pendulum divided by an iron plate in the base with giltwood-framed glazed door decorated with a back painting of Wasp and the Reindeer engaging in battle, divided by a resplendent American eagle, the convex moulded top surmounted by a later brass ball and eagle finial
