A French gilt-brass one-piece carriage clock with duplex escapement and alarm
Lepine, Paris. Circa 1840
The twin barrel movement with narrow gilt escapement platform with plain gilt three-balance to duplex escapement visible through the centre of the platform, countwheel planted on the backplate with strike and alarm on a bell secured to the backplate, the engine turned silvered dial with raised Roman chapter ring with blued steel hands and polished steel alarm hand, re-signed below LEPINE A Paris, the one-piece case with folding handle to top and sliding rear door; with an early gilt tooled brown leather travelling box
