Each with rectangular top and crenellated frieze above two short and three long drawers, on turned baluster feet, some knob handles replaced, minor variations in size

Lot Essay

The house at Newton Don was substantially rebuilt for Sir Alexander Don between 1817 and 1820 by Sir Robert Smirke. The house and estate were sold in 1847 when Sir Alexander's heirs sold to the Balfour family. Further work was carried out to the house at that point.
