Lot Essay

The benches may have formed part of the furnishings supplied for the Palace of Westminster at the time of the fitting up of Westminster Hall in February 1936 for 'the Lying-in-State and Funeral of His Majesty King George V and the Accession of His Majesty Edward VIII'.
