The overall form of these chairs is the same as that of the hall chairs at Glin Castle, including the rectangular back stretcher. These chairs are of a more panelled form than those at Glin (J. O'Brien and D. Guinness, Great Irish Houses and Castles, London, 1992, p. 150).
The chairs at Glin were probably introduced after 1812.
