The rectangular top with shaped reeded ends with a fixed shelf, above four adjustable shelves, the base with a pair of panelled doors with later brass trellis backed with buff floral cut-velvet panels, on bracket feet and brass castors, the reverse inscribed in chalk 'J1942' and '9/10/59' and '173', the upper back rail later

Lot Essay

Lady Hamilton, CBE (1913-2000), educated at St Felix Southwold and Newnham College, Cambridge, was a committed volunteer, working with disabled and elderly. She founded the Disabled Living Foundation of which she became Chairman and President. She was married to Sir Patrick Hamilton, Bt.
