GOVERNOR SIR GEORGE GIPPS (1791-1847)
A grant by purchase, signed, dated 31st December 1840, to John Terry Hughes, buyer at auction for two hundred and ninety pounds of "one thousand one hundred and sixty acres, be the same more or less, situated in the County of Bathurst and Parish of unnamed near Cudgegong …being the land sold as Lot 10 in pursuance of the Advertisement of 20th June 1840", manuscript and printed on vellum, paper seal, also signed by Sir Edward Deas Thomson as Colonial Secretary and Registrar, 36 x 42 cm. (14 x 16½ in.)
