Sauternes, 1er grand cru classé
Levels: one upper shoulder, one mid/upper shoulder. Both dark color with slightly raised corks, and bin soiled labels. One loose label with a small tear.
War time glass
Harvested 24 September - 22 November: five notes, variable levels. Fine flavour, long, rapier-like finish in 1972. Excellent in 1983: lovely colour, rich bouquet; rich, fat, good length. Some more 'medicinal'. Most recently, a resin- (not raisin!) like overtone to its quite rich caramel and raisiny character. Still sweet, fleshy. Last tasted Sept 1998. At best ****" MB, Vintage Wine
