Tasting note: deep, still plummy-purple; nose initially sweet, vanillin but with considerable depth, developing a touch of rich tarryness; pleasant sweetness and weight, mouthfilling with fragrant fruit, good length and grip. Considered the best since the '89s and '90s. M.B. (Oct 2001)
