Included among the papers are Edward Antill's important "Essay on the cultivation of the vine, and the making and preserving of wine, suited to the different climates in North America" (I, pp. 180-262), Benjamin Rush's "Enquiry into the nature, cause and cure of the angina suffocativa, or sore throat distemper" (I, pp. 388-404) and his "Observations on the cause and cure of the tetanus" (II, pp. 225-231), William Dunbar's "The Mississipi and its delta" (VI, pp. 165-187) and Benjamin Franklin's "Letter to Dr. Ingenhauzz concerning chimneys" (II, pp. 1-36) from which the above illustration is taken.
