拍品專文

This picture has something of the spirit of a juvenile work. The fluidity of line in many of the figures calls to mind the early work of Millais (see Play, Christie's, London, 6 June 1997, lot 37). However, in the absence of provenance and documentary evidence, the stylistic similarity to Millais's juvenalia is not sufficient to make a confident attribution.
