ANISSON, Laurent (d. 1672). Bibliographia Anissoniana, seu catalogus librorum, qui venales reperiuntur in officina Laurentii Anisson, bibliopolae Lugdunensis, ad annum 1669. Lyons, 1669.

12o (145 x 85 mm). Contemporary boards. Provenance: Abraham Girard, S.J., Abbot of Chalivoy (ca 1610-1680, sale 9 February 1996).

The only known catalogue published by Laurent Anisson, "seigneur d'Hauteroche, imprimeur et échevin de Lyon," the founder of a long line of booksellers, publishers and printers both in Lyons and in Paris, where they held the post of directeur de l'Imprimerie Royale, Impériale (and again) Royale from 1691 onwards for almost 150 years (they later called themselves Anisson-Duperron). His catalogue, listing on 429 pages upwards of 10,000 publications, printed in various European countries, including England, is divided into ten subjects, including Italian and Spanish books, each alphabetically arranged. There is a section of "Libri theologici authorum protestantium, tam Lutheranorum tam Calvinistarum" (pp. 125-140). Labbé, 1653, mentions a catalogue published by Annison in 1639, but no copy appears to have survived. Of this catalogue, Pollard & Ehrman only record one copy, in the British Library.
