Contemporary French red mococco gilt, triple fillets round sides, corners with acorn spray, edges gilt, probably by Jacques-Antoine Derome (minor rubbing to corners). Provenance: The Comte de Lignerolles (sale 1894, lot 3,259); Lucius Wilmerding (bookplate); A.L. McLaughlin (bookplate).
