PRICED throughout in a contemporary hand. The very considerable library, consisting of more than 4,500 lots, included rare items, such as a second edition of Vesalius' seminal work on anatomy, Descartes' Discours de la méthode, and other important books by Newton, Böckler or Zonca. It was particulary rich in literature and arts. The sale was announced by posters and was held from January 7 to February 23, 1772. North 213.
