COURTANVAUX, François-Michel-César Le Tellier, Marquis de (1718-1781) -- Catalogue des livres de la bibliotheque de feu François-César Le Tellier, Marquis de Courtanvaux... Paris: Nyon l'aîné, 1782.
8o (199 x 127 mm). Half-title. (Some very minor browning.) Half calf, paste paper boards (edges and joints rubbed, joints cracking).
PRICED in a contemporary hand. Courtanvaux's library consisted of manuscripts, maps, and prints, as well as an extensive collection of travel literature. It's thought that the Marquis' son, Charles-François César, started the library with the intention of creating a bibliography of travel literature. On the verso of the half-title, a notice states that at a later date, the printer was to furnish an index, as well as a list of prices to accompany the catalogue. This copy includes the index, but is lacking the price list. Blogie II, col. 15; North 295.
