8o (168 x 108 mm). Contemporary boards. Provenance: J.W. Kiefhaber (contemporary ownership inscription).

Catalogue of the vast library of jurisprudence, containing 6,639 lots belonging to Johann Heumann, professor at Altdorf and one of the foremost legal historians of his day. The catalogue is divided into four parts: "Ius Germanicum privatum;" "Ius publicum germanicum;" "Iura in Imperio Rom. Germ. Subsidiaria sistens;" "Scriptores philologiae, philosophiae, historiae omnis generis, theologiae, medicinae etc." There is a detailed index of names and subjects at end. Although the title-page is undated, the preface by J.B. Hoffer, professor of law at Altdorf, is dated "1752;" in it he states that he himself has compiled the catalogue, and that the library is for sale, either in its entirity or by sections, through negotiations with him; otherwise it will be sold, presumably by auction, in Nuremberg from 27 September 1752 onwards.
