WEDEL-JARLSBERG, Baron Fredrik Hartvig Herman af (1855-1942) -- Catalogue des livres composant la bibliothèque à Paris de M. le Baron de Wedel-Jarlsberg. Paris: [Privately Printed by Durand, Chartres], 1924. 4o (276 x 212 mm).

[With:] Catalogue des Livres de M. le Baron de Wedel Jarlsberg. II[-IV]. Paris, 1932. 3 volumes, 4o (276 x 212 mm). MANUSCRIPT ON PAPER: 574 leaves with 586 mounted catalogue entries in manuscript

Together 4 volumes, 4o. Uniformly bound for Baron de Wedel-Jarlsberg in brown calf, arms of the collector at center of sides, vol. I with original printed wrappers bound in, by Yseux, "successeur de Thierry-Simier" (spines slightly faded); suede-lined pull-off cases.

THE COLLECTOR'S OWN COPY. The first volume is the privately printed library catalogue of 925 entries arranged according to subjects. The remaining three volumes, written in neat cursive on blue paper, appear to comprise a vast supplement to the catalogue, arranged in alphabetical order. Wedel-Jarlsberg was a Norwegian diplomat who represented his country at the Paris Peace Conference in 1919. In 1932 he published his memoirs in Oslo. In 1933 he exhibited his modern French bindings at the Oslo Kunstindustrimuseet. This catalogue was previously in the possession of L'Art Ancien, Zurich, and the entire library may have been handled by them. (4)
