BOUND FOR LOUIS XIV OF FRANCE: contemporary gold-tooled crimson morocco, triple fillet on sides, arms of Louis XIV (Olivier 2494 fer 9 smallest version, described but not reproduced) in the center, the King's monogram in compartments of spine, a small compartment (second from the bottom) perhaps intended for the date left blank, fleur-de-lys roll on turn-ins, sprinkled edges, (binding slightly worn at extremities). Folding cloth case.
