[LE CAMUS DE LIMARE (1722-95)]. Catalogue des livres de M.L.C.D.L. Distribué par ordre Alphabétique des noms d'Auteurs. [Paris: privately printed by François-Ambroise Didot for the collector], 1779.
12o (155 x 97 mm). Woodcut head-piece signed by Caron. Contemporary red morocco gilt, triple fillet on sides, flat spine with longitudinal lettering, gilt edges, blue marbled endpapers. Provenance: Major J.R. Abbey (bookplate) -- Claude Guérin.
LAID-PAPER ISSUE OF ONE OF THE RAREST FRENCH PRIVATE-LIBRARY CATALOGUES OF THE 18TH CENTURY. The edition is variously said to have been limited to 15, 20 or 25 copies, some of which are recorded on wove paper, which Didot was the first printer to use. Apart from his library, almost nothing is known about Le Camus. For the sale of his collection, see the next lot. FINE COPY, probably bound by Derome le Jeune (unsigned). Pollard and Ehrman p. 275.
