Very finely carved through the vibrant turquoise-blue overlay with a continuous scene of two quails perched on rocks amidst millet and blossoming chrysanthemum, the reverse carved with an elephant supporting on its back a vase with a branch of blossoming peony, stopper

It is extremely rare to find glass of this distinctive color used as an overlay. The very fine carving and finish of this bottle allows for an attribution to the Palace Workshops, Beijing.
