The interior decorated with a large figure of a court lady seated in a landscape watching two butterflies in flight, wearing a green overskirt tied over a long-sleeved blue tunic and a pale green underskirt, with a ruyi mark within a double circle on the base

Lot Essay

Another example of a famille verte dish with a similar design of a seated court lady, with a Kangxi mark and of the period, formerly in the Eugene O. Perkins Collection as well as the Riesco Collection, was sold in these rooms, 2 June 1989, lot 32.
