Each bowl painted on the exterior in bright pastel enamels with sprays of roses and asters and a pair of butterflies, the interior center with a small blossoming sprig

Lot Essay

A pair of Yongzheng-marked bowls of this size and pattern was sold at Sotheby's, New York, 27 March 2003, and two related pairs of Yongzheng-marked bowls of smaller size, from the Edward T. Chow Collection, were sold at Sotheby's Hong Kong, 25 November 1980, lot 161 and 19 May 1981, lot 590.
