This is a classic work by Yoshifusa of the Ichimonji school. He was the third generation in descent from Nobufusa, who was one of the "Goban Kaji," or "attendant smiths" of the retired Emperor Gotoba in the early thirteenth century. Yoshifusa is traditionally known as one of the "Seven Great Ichimonji Smiths."
