Nanbokucho period (14th century), signed Bizen kuni ju Osafune Morikage
Sugata [configuration]: honzukuri, iori-mune, o-kissaki
Kitae [forging pattern]: itame mixed with mokume, o-itame, jinie, jifu, and midare-utsuri
Hamon [tempering pattern]: squared gunome with saka ashi, large nie, kinsuji, sunagashi in slight notare
Boshi [tip]: slightly midare boshi with ko-maru on haki-omote, notare with yakizume on haki-ura, both sides with hakikake
Horimono [carvings]: bohi around habaki-moto on both sides
Nakago [tang]: suriage, kiri end, two holes (one plugged)
Habaki [collar]: double, gilt copper
In shirasaya [plain wood scabbard]
Nagasa [length from tip to beginning of tang]: 70.3cm.
Sori [curvature]: 1.4cm.
Motohaba [width at start of tempered edge]: 3cm.
Sakihaba [width before tip]: 2.5cm.
With a certificate of registration designating this blade as the 49th Juyo token (Important Sword) no. 11708 issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Art Sword) on 2004.10.9
