Each square, one for a civil official of fourth rank and below embroidered in white silk with a single crane flying above waves of red, pink, green, purple and white and a svastika medallion, and holding a branch of pulloch'o fungus against a background of colored clouds on a blue figured-silk ground; the other for an official of first to third rank embroidered in white silk with two flying cranes holding in their beaks the stem of red pulloch'o above colored waves and surrounded by colored clouds, the ground blue figured silk woven with clouds
