8o (202 x 116 mm). Folding woodcut frontispiece showing a penitent Mills before the gallows. Original pictorial wrappers, stabbed as issued, uncut (some splitting along fold).

"Professor Negley K. Teeters of Temple University has no record of this case in his collection of Pennsylvania executions; nor has he been able to identify 'Galesboro', Penn.' It may be fictitious since few details are given" (McDade 682). Another Boston edition, published in 1817 for N. Coverly (McDade 682), notes the date of the murder as taking place on the night of the 29th of January; the present account places the crime on the night of the 15th of July. McDade 683.
