Aldine 8o (154 x 88 mm). Italic and Greek type. Woodcut dolphin and anchor device (Fletcher 3) on title, two woodcut illustrations in text. (Some minor spotting.) Nineteenth-century calf (rebacked). Provenance: Sir Robert D'Arcy, Hildyard Bar (armorial bookplate).
EDITIO PRINCEPS of De Lapidibus. Musaeus's Opusculum is reset after the Aldine quarto edition of ca. 1495-97 and the first two works of Orpheus reproduce the text of the very rare Giunta edition of 1500. Adams M-1991; Ahmanson-Murphy 138; Renouard 81.8.
