Lot Essay

Cf. J-F. Aubert, Statuettes Égyptiennes, Paris, 1974, pl. 31, figs. 68-69 for the type. Henttawy was the daughter of Pinedjem II and his second wife, Isetemkhebi. Similar shabtis were found in the Ramesseum circa 1845. However, for a detailed history of this period and other known Henttawys connected with the Theban high priests of Amun cf. K. A. Kitchen, The Third Intermediate Period, Warminster, 1973, nos. 41-47, p. 57(D).
