Lot Essay

Reid Dick exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1912 and was appointed a member in 1928, he was knighted in 1935. He trained in Glasgow at the School of Art until 1907 before serving in the First World War. He was also Sculptor-in-Ordinary to George VI until 1952 and Sculptor-in-Ordinary until his death for the Queen in Scotland.
