The wavy spindle back and dished seat of these chairs are very close in design to a chair in The Staircase Hall of Badminton House, Gloucestershire and illustrated in G. Jackson-Stops, 'Badminton, Gloucestershire - II, Country Life, 16 April 1987, fig. 10. Whilst the offered lot have caned seats the Badminton example shown has an over-upholstered seat.
