A good 19th-Century german lacquered-brass 3¼-inch telescope,
signed on the backplate Utzschneider u. Fraunhofer in München, the 117cm. (46 1/8in.) long body-tube with dust-cap, telescopic rod with rack and pinion adjustment, and rack and pinion focusing to the eyepiece extension tube, mounted via an ebonised cast-iron cradle on a lacquered-brass three-screw splayed tripod foot with fine screw horizontal adjustment, atop a mahogany tripod with brass spider, with two eyepiece extension tubes with lenses and four further eyepieces, in a fitted wooden case with two brass hooks and eyes and two iron carrying handles -- 137.2cm. (54in.) wide
