A Central Indian sandstone stele with Umamaheshvara
11th/12th century
Carved in deep relief with a seated Siva, his right leg resting on his bull, his four arms holding the specific attributes, wearing dhoti, bejewelled, his face with almond-shaped eyes and high combed jatamakuta, his consort Parvati is seated on his lap with her left foot supported by her lion, her right hand embraces Siva while the other carries the darpana and both are surrounded by various figures
