MARK OF OMAR RAMSDEN, LONDON, 1922
The oblong gold case applied on one side with silver plaque depicting Crispin and Crispinian, the patron saints of the Cordwainers, cutting leather and making a shoe, flanked by two Roman soldier, all within Gothic arches, and other side applied with a silver inscription, with a suspension loop, contained in a later fitted case and with a later presentation stand, marked inside and on thumbpiece, further engraved 'OMAR RAMSDEN ME FECIT MCMXXII' the case labelled 'BY APPOINTMENT TO H.M. THE QUEEN GOLDSMITHS, SILVERSMITHS & JEWELLERS ASPREY PLC LONDON'
4½ in. (11.4 cm.) long
7 oz. (220 gr.) gross
The inscription reads: 'AS PROPER MEN AS EVER TROD UPON NEATS LEATHER HAVE GONE UPON MY HANDIWORK'
The ribbon reads: 'JULIUS CAESAR ACT 1 SC. 1'
