Of square section supported on a fluted conforming pedestal foot, with a plain silver-mounted rim and applied straps at the corners, the inside applied with further straps and Tudor rose boss, the detachable cover with an engraved inscription and a band of moonstones and garnets, with a finial modelled as a Cupid draped in a flower garland, with a hammered finish, marked on foot, at rim and on the flange of cover, the base engraved 'OMAR RAMSDEN ME FECIT'
8¾ in. (22.2 cm.) high
The inscription reads: 'MAN MOUVE THE MIND AND JOY THIS FEAST'
