Lot Essay

The soft orange tone is very similar to that on a jug in the Barlow Collection which alternates hyacinths seen here with other floral sprays (Geza Fehérvári: Islamic Pottery, A Comprehensive Study based on the Barlow Collection, London, 1973, no.265, p.169, col.pl.O). It is more unusual to find the red hyacinths seen here as opposed to the normal blue.
