OTTOMAN TURKEY, CIRCA 1560
With narrow sloping rim on short foot, the white interior decorated in cobalt-blue, green and black underglaze and bole-red, with an asymmetric arrangement of entwined blue tulips with red spots, red and blue carnations and other red flowers, all issuing from central tuft, the cavetto left plain but for small green and blue stripes, the rim with white and red half-rosettes reserved against the blue ground, the exterior with alternating triple bundle and single flowerhead in blue and green between black rings, with further rings on base, tiny hairline crack and minute chip to foot
