GROTH VINEYARDS
Founded in 1982, Groth Vineyards is still 100 family owned and operated. The Groth Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon blend is made from Cabernet grapes grown on the Oakcross Vineyard in Oakville and Merlot grapes from the Hillview Vineyard south of Yountville. The long and cool growing season of 1994 allowed for especially long hang times. Harvesting happened at the end of October and the beginning of November, with the wine being bottled in early 1997. Only 1,732 cases of the 1994 were made.
