Domaine Leroy and Domaine d'Auvenay
Madame Lalou Bize-Leroy and her late husband Marcel Bize are the creative force behind this Côte de Beaune domaine. Lalou is best known, not only for her aptitude as an avid rock climber and follower of haute couture, but also as the fiery personality that co-directed Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and later created its contemporary colleague: Domaine Leroy. As with Leroy, the wines of d'Auvenay are biodynamically cultivated with "the knowledge of the cosmic rhythms essential for the regeneration of the soil, the work of the earth and the attentions necessary for the vines throughout the year." Production at d'Auvenay is less than 700 cases, from under 10 acres in 14 appellations.
