LUCE

Luce was born out of the love of two families, Frescobaldi and Mondavi, for the land of Italy. Following Constellation Brands' takeover of Robert Mondavi, Frescobaldi very recently purchased its partner's shares, and now maintains sole control over the venture. Luce is Italian for "light", and the wine's name was inspired by Margrit Mondavi's view of the sunlight dancing upon the rooftops of Florence. Luce was the first wine in Montalcino to combine the roundness and suppleness of Merlot with the structure and elegance of Sangiovese and the symbiotic interplay of these two grapes forges a new and delicious direction for the wines of Montalcino.
