The rectangular moulded cornice above a plain frieze and a pair of panelled doors enclosing four slides, the base with two short and two long drawers, on gently splayed legs, the handles apparently original, lacking one slide, one drawer stamped 'GILLOWS LANCASTER'

Lot Essay
Gillows used a two block stamp from circa 1789 until the mid-1790s when the more commonly seen single block stamp, with 'GILLOWS LANCASTER' separated by a dot, came into use.
