The circular tilt-top with pierced balusters and oval gallery on a turned spreading shaft with spirally-fluted knop on tripod base with cabriole legs and pad feet, the top moved and block replaced

A china-railed tea-table of this pattern, but featuring paired balusters, is likely to have been amongst the Belton House furniture acquired by Sir John and Lady Cust following their marriage in 1743. It was sold from Belton, Lincolnshire, Christie's house sale, 30 April-5 May 1984, lot 71 (see The History and Treasures of Belton House, 1963, p. 18).
